The manufacture of musical instruments in the Vogtland region originated from violin making. On March 6, 1677, twelve master violin makers founded the guild of violin makers in Neukirchen, which is still in existence today. Experienced master violin makers manufacture superb string instruments of high quality based on their customers' request and also carry out high-expertise repairs and restorations.
The corresponding accessories (Bergner and Götz cases, Lenzner strings, EFRANO strings, Wilfer chin-rests and tailpieces) are also fabricated in Vogtland-based workshops.
